Check out this video of the little deserted beach we spent a day one, not another soul in sight, aaaaahhhhh peace.  I could only sit there dumbfounded and say ‘oh my god, it’s so quiet’ for the first half hour.

That Boxing Day bought with it an undersea earthquake in the Indian Ocean which produced a tsunami that caused one of the biggest natural disasters in modern history with over 200,000 people known to have lost their lives.  I hope that the survivors have since found some JOY in their lives.

That Christmas also brought with it a spiritual awakening for me and I think of that time as the worst of my life and the best of my life.

The Tsunami, an earache which deafened me and a family Christmas by the beach in Australia changed my life.

I just watched a fabulous movie called Ambition to Meaning with Dr Wayne Dyer. The blurb reads (in part) … a compelling portrait of three modern lives in need of new direction and new meaning.

I clicked on the play button of my computer (viewing it online) and prepared to sit back with a cup of tea to enJOY what I was sure would be some inspiration. I wasn’t prepared to feel the need half way through, to pick up my pen and paper and make notes but the inspirational words coming to me had to be captured and shared with you.

There was a study done on peoples values / priorities both before and after their quantum moment. Men’s values before this shift are Wealth, a sense of adventure, achievement, pleasure and respect. I have long admired Dr Wayne Dyer and I credit his book “10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace” as a catalyst for my finding new direction in my life. I have read most of his books and for months listened to his CD set “It’s Never Crowded along the Extra Mile” as I drove back and forth from my job in the city.

You will find mention of Dr Dyer in a number of my articles including mention of how he and I became co-authors in The Path to Success book.

This movie is a must see for anyone who is searching for purpose and meaning in their life. I’m giving it my two thumbs up award. Good job Dr Dyer, you rock!

Do you remember that 7 Degrees of Separation theory that was around in the 80′s.  The theory was that you were only 7 people away from knowing Kevin Bacon. In other words, you knew someone, who knew someone, who knew someone etc etc on up to person 7 Kevin Bacon.

Well, I’ve recently come up with my own theory and it is this…

You are only 3 degrees of separation from someone who can make your dreams come true.

I came to this conclusion while writing a speech I was to give at a book signing. The event was to launch a compilation book and I had been invited to participate by one of the co-authors.

I worked out that this co-author had realised her dream of being published by knowing person 1 who knew person 2 who introduced her to person 3.

When thinking over some of the significant people in my life I came to see the 3 degrees pattern a number of times and each time it showed itself was when I had reached a significant goal in my life.

Go find that third person and tell them your dreams.

Before I go on I want to take you back to about 8 months ago.

I was driving home from work and a car pulled in front of me, now I’m not normally a car kind of girl, I mean for me a car has always just been a way to get from A to Z and I love and appreciate my little Suzuki Swift.

So as I was saying, this car pulled in front of me and oh my God, the feelings that went through my body. If I had to describe it graphically I would say (and have said) I got a hard on for that car as soon as I saw it.

Sorry ladies, and guys I think you know what I mean.

Rushed home, jumped on the internet and found out what the car was, a BMW Z4, silver and sexy.

Printed out a picture of the one that appealed most and put it into my dream folder – the one where I keep all my affirmations and words and pictures that describe my ideal life.

And boy that car has been in my head daily ever since, occasionally I wonder why I feel like this about a car and I contemplate the amazing ways the universe will conjure up to get me my car. For I know that when I asked, the universe answered in the affirmative. It is mine.

So now to today, the new BMW Z4 has been released and while I knew it was coming I sometimes thought that it would not give me the reaction I had that first time.

Boy was I wrong. On opening the email I gasped in pleasure and found myself jumping for joy (internally) when I read on the web page ‘An expression of joy, the new BMW Z4.’ Let me tell you this sure feels like joy to me.

I wonder if the people at BMW will understand the significance of their use of the word JOY to this excited coach whose work revolves around the giving, sharing and teaching of JOY.

Oh I cannot wait to find out how the universe will deliver this one to me…I’m requesting it in racing green please.

Law of Attraction note: after checking out the new BMW Z4 I picked up a book I often flip through ‘A deep breath of life’ by Alan Cohen and opened it on the page for October 1 looking for an Abraham quote that is there ‘It is not more difficult to create a castle than a button’.  Reading on Alan tells the story of a man who is being show through heaven by God and seeing a room full of treasures he goes in and sits in a Rolls Royce car. Upon noticing the car has his name written on it the man says to God ‘this is the car I always wanted! Every night I prayed to you for a car-how come I never got this one’ to which God replies ‘Because you prayed for a Ford’.

Ask for what you really want, it is already yours.

My son started school this year and in an effort to be an involved parent I signed on to read to the class for half an hour each Monday.

In my effort to be involved and do something for the kids today, I have discovered the hidden treasure in the task.

As I arrived today the teacher pointed the way into the classroom and to the desk where she had put the reading book. Getting closer I noticed how old the book was, and upon picking it up I discovered that it was an old fable that I had read more than 30 years ago.

The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse begins with the town mouse arriving to visit the country mouse and partaking of plain but good food and fresh water, at which he chides the country mouse and insists he visit his Majesty’s Palace, the home of Town Mouse. He tells of marvelous morsels and sweets and treats available to him.

They travel to the palace and upon entering immediately start to feast upon said treats until a dog and cat turn up and scare them away and the servants enter to remove the remnants of the feast.

Once quiet returns Town Mouse tries to convince Country Mouse that he should pack up his meager belongings and leave his poor home with its bland food and plain water to live with him in the town.

Country Mouse responds with a sentence that set my thoughts in motion and led to this writing. He says ‘What good is elegance without ease, or plenty with an aching heart.’

Now while the teacher of those children in that classroom went on to discuss the 5 senses, mainly the senses of smell and sight, I walked out of that classroom pondering one small sentence ‘what good is plenty with an aching heart?’

It’s a question of life balance and one many of us are trying to figure out today. Obviously it’s a question that has plagued mankind for many years and will continue for a few more yet.

Remember the 1980’s when ‘greed was good’ and there was no balance in life. You worked as many hours as you needed to, to have all the things you wanted to have to prove your social status and keep up with the neighbors.

This continued to some degree through the 1990’s and even to some small extent today but there is now an ever growing movement of those who are finding some semblance of life balance. Today you can find mums like me working on the deck overlooking the river (as I am today) and taking an hour away from the laptop to contribute some time to her child’s class, you can find the father who searches for and finds the perfect home business opportunity so that he can be there when his kids wake and when they lay their heads down for the night. Finally we are starting to act on our long held desires to have a life not just make a living.

You might also notice the growing interest in the law of attraction and the belief that you can create your life any way you want it.

Today the Country Mouse might well be saying ‘you can have the elegance and the ease, the plenty with the full and open heart. You can have it all’.
